Are These CELBAN Preparation Classes?
They are related to CELBAN preparation, but they are not a conventional CELBAN review course.
CELBAN Help Centre Events are designed to help participants:
understand the CLB/CELBAN relationship.
explore communication skills.
examine their own development.
ask questions.
understand what particular skills require.
become more discerning about preparation materials.
They may therefore be useful before, during, or alongside other preparation.
They do not replace:
the official CELBAN examination.
individual language assessment.
professional advice.
other preparation that a learner may require.
There is no guarantee that attending an Event will make someone “CELBAN ready” or produce a particular CELBAN score.
Are these Events Just for Nurses
Although the Events are strongly connected to CELBAN and the needs of Internationally Educated Nurses, the underlying communication questions extend beyond nursing.
Healthcare professionals may need to:
understand information. ✅
communicate with patients. ✅
interact with colleagues. ✅
give and receive instructions. ✅
explain information. ✅
document care. ✅
clarify misunderstandings. ✅
adapt communication to different people and situations. ✅
For this reason, Events may also be relevant to other Internationally Educated Health Professionals.
What kind of questions can I ask?
One of the simplest purposes of the Events is to create a place where questions can be asked.
You may arrive wondering:
What does CLB actually mean?
Why did I receive this result?
What does this skill require me to do?
Why is this communication difficult for me?
How do I know what I need to practise?
Is this preparation resource actually addressing my needs?
What is the difference between knowing something and being able to use it?
These are not questions that always need another worksheet.
Sometimes they need conversation.
CELBANPrep & CELBAN.info Events are:
live online learning sessions.
CLB-informed exploration.
opportunities for self-evaluation.
places for questions and discussion.
opportunities to learn with other people.
spaces for exploring healthcare communication.
part of the broader CELBAN Help Centre landscape.
What Are These Events Not?
CELBANPrep and CELBAN.info Events are not:
the official CELBAN examination.
an official CELBAN Centre examination-preparation program.
a guarantee of a particular score.
a substitute for individual language assessment.
a substitute for professional advice.
simply a collection of practice questions.
a promise that attending an Event will make you “CELBAN ready”.
The Event is a place to explore the skills beneath preparation not a promise of a particular result.

What Does Participation Cost?
Event participation follows the CELBANPrep Compassionate Pricing Policy.
The purpose is to keep the financial contribution modest while recognizing that live learning involves real human work:
preparation.
knowledge.
attention.
facilitation.
technology.
time.
energy.
Where an Event has a participation fee, the current amount will be stated on the Event registration page.
The principle is simple:
Compassion goes both ways.
Financial circumstances should not automatically prevent someone from beginning to learn.
At the same time, live human attention has value.
The Events try to honour both realities.
You do not need a CELBANPrep University bundle to attend.
You may want to bring:
a notebook. ✅
questions. ✅
previous CELBAN feedback, if you have it. ✅
observations about your own communication. ✅
curiosity. ✅
willingness to listen to other perspectives. ✅
Most importantly:
You do not need to arrive “ready.”
The purpose of the Events is partly to help you become more oriented to what readiness actually means.
