Why were the books created?

CELBANPrep Publishing grew out of CELBANPrep in the early years.

CELBANPrep began in 2009.

In 2011, the first e-books were created through CELBANPrep Publishing. These early books were developed as accessible resources for Internationally Educated Nurses preparing for CELBAN, including resources that could support self-study and learning with peers.

This history matters.

Our books were not created simply because publishing books was another product opportunity.

They emerged from an educational need:

IENs needed resources they could afford, so they could learn independently.

That need became one of the foundations of CELBANPrep Publishing.

Over time, the collection expanded beyond individual CELBAN preparation resources into guides, workbooks, grammar resources, medical collocation resources, and broader healthcare English materials.

Is the Healer Series a collection of practice tests?

No. The Healer Series, the CELBAN Preparation Guide Series, is not a collection of practice tests or sample exams.

Each book includes a weekly study plan and lesson plans to help learners develop the language skills needed for CELBAN and improve their performance.

CELBAN is based on the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB). Preparing for CELBAN therefore involves developing and demonstrating language skills, not simply practicing test questions.

Interpreting that the series should be a collection of practice tests reflects a misconception rooted in imported exam-preparation thinking. That approach is not aligned with the CLB-based purpose of CELBAN, which requires learners to actually develop and demonstrate functional language skills, abilities, and competencies.

Practice tests may help learners become familiar with a test format, but practice tests do not, by themselves, develop the language skills described by the CLB.

The CELBANPrep Preparation Guide Series was created for learning, self-study, and skill development. It was not created nor intended to reproduce the CELBAN exam or function as practice-test books.
